Job summary
Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA) in Hebburn, England, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop embedded firmware for power system protection devices. You will deliver robust, maintainable software meeting stringent functional and reliability requirements.
You will implement features, fix defects, and work with hardware, systems, and product teams throughout the lifecycle, including testing and documentation.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
- Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
- Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded systems architecture.
- Familiarity with Linux OS in embedded environments, including kernel/bootloader customization.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software using C/C++ for power system protection devices.
- Implement new features and enhancements across the product lifecycle.
- Investigate and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
- Participate in code reviews and drive software quality improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
