Job summary
Dyson is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Power Electronics discipline of our Research team, based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, UK. You will develop and validate efficient embedded software for power electronic systems and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to take ideas from concept to prototype.
You will mentor students and junior engineers, evaluate microcontrollers, and contribute to design concepts, tests and reports.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Experience with embedded systems in electronics industry or R&D environment.
- Experience in motor drives, inverters, SMPS, battery management, or power transfer is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Developing software for power electronic systems including motor drives and battery management.
- Creating and validating resource efficient embedded software on microcontrollers.
- Mentoring Dyson Institute students, graduate engineers and junior engineers.
- Designing, simulating, building and testing demonstration rigs and prototype systems.
- Selecting and evaluating current and next-gen microcontrollers to optimize cost and performance.
- Creating clear technical reports and presenting results to stakeholders.
