Job summary

SPT Labtech is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Robotics to design and implement firmware that drives precision robotics in lab instruments. You will work on ARM Cortex-M firmware, motor control, and hardware interfaces over CAN, Ethernet, and more.

The role combines software and hardware collaboration in a multidisciplinary R&D setting at the Melbourn site near Cambridge. The position emphasizes reliable firmware, device drivers, and architecture, with opportunities to mentor

Qualifications

Demonstrable embedded firmware experience with ARM Cortex-M.
Experience designing module boundaries and interfaces for embedded systems.
Experience integrating hardware modules and drivers into a broader system.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain embedded software in C++ for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
Implement motor and actuator control in production hardware.
Integrate third-party modules and write device drivers over CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI and I2C.
Shape firmware architecture, interfaces and system boundaries.
Contribute to PC-side C# .NET code and maintain documentation.
