Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Poole is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Development team in Rail Infrastructure, Mobile Communications. You will design, implement, test and support software for ARM and Intel devices, and provide technical guidance across projects.

You'll lead complex development activities, contribute to bids, and collaborate with Sales, Projects and Production to deliver robust solutions for GSM‑R and future railway telecoms.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux-based embedded software development and debugging.
• Proficiency in C++ and Qt for embedded platforms.
• Experience with GSM‑R, 4G/5G networks desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own complete engineering work packages from scope to delivery.
• Provide systems engineering across the project lifecycle.
• Support sales and bids with technical solutions.
• Lead demonstrations, trials, and evaluations of new products.
• Develop cost estimates and project plans with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
