Job summary

HUBER+SUHNER Polatis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance embedded Linux software for optical networking hardware. You will work hands-on in C on Linux-based embedded targets, shaping architecture with the software team and mentoring engineers.

You will integrate software with hardware interfaces and contribute to Yocto builds while helping ensure security through code signing, RoT, and secure boot. Collaboration with QA, NPI and support will drive robust product delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product development experience in an embedded environment using C programming language.
• Experience developing software for ARM microcontrollers.
• Proven track record in Linux-based systems development.
• Familiarity with Yocto build systems and open-source integrations.
• Knowledge of security concepts including RoT, secure boot and code signing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Software Architect to shape system design and test criteria.
• Develop and optimise software in C for Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Integrate software with hardware interfaces (I2C, UART, SPI, USB).
• Produce project artefacts and documentation to meet regulatory and process requirements.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams across production, NPI and support.
