Job summary

Parkside is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Linux to join its UK Development Centre in West London. You will own end-to-end software architecture for complex embedded products, remaining hands-on while coordinating with UK and international teams.

The role requires deep embedded Linux experience, modern C++, and proven technical leadership with architectural ownership in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong modern C++ development skills and C for firmware/drivers.
• Experience with Yocto Project/OpenEmbedded.
• Leadership with architectural ownership in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of major embedded software work packages from requirements through production.
• Design and develop production-grade C++ applications on embedded Linux (Yocto/OpenEmbedded).
• Define hardware/software partitioning, interfaces, and upgrade paths.
• Lead CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing with GitLab, Gerrit, Jenkins.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and support regulatory requirements.
• Embed cybersecurity into the architecture (secure boot, updates, access control).
