Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join its R&D team in Rugby, focusing on designing and developing innovative electronic products from concept to production. You will design embedded systems, manage schematics and PCB layouts, develop firmware for PIC/NXP MCUs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a product development environment.
• Strong background in electronic hardware design, PCB development and embedded firmware programming.
• Knowledge of product safety, EMC and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Project management experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded electronic systems from concept to production.
• Capture schematics, select components, layout PCBs, prototype and test.
• Develop and maintain Embedded C/C firmware for PIC, NXP or similar MCUs.
• Produce technical documents, specifications and product development requirements.
• Manage BOMs and maintain product data in ERP systems.
• Support testing, validation, EMC and safety compliance activities.
• Provide technical support to production and other engineering teams, mentoring juniors.
