Job summary

Catering is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a fast-moving product development environment in Reading. You will design hardware and firmware across multiple sectors, with in-house PCB manufacture and prototyping to speed iterations.

The role demands 4+ years hands-on electronics product development, degree or equivalent, and strong Altium and embedded experience. You'll work in Agile sprints, run tests, and contribute across hardware, firmware, and test activities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on electronics product development experience.
• Degree or equivalent in Electronics or related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic hardware and supporting embedded firmware for new product developments.
• Create and update schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs and technical documentation.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test procedures.
• Support prototype builds, board bring-up and first article testing.
• Participate in formal peer design reviews within a quality environment.
• Maintain project documentation and task tracking using Jira.
• Communicate risks, assumptions and progress clearly within the team.
• Contribute ideas across hardware, firmware and test activities.
• Plan and manage tasks within Agile sprint-based projects.
• Support component selection, DFM/DFT activities and production readiness.
