Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Rugby seeks an experienced Electronics Engineer to join its R&D team, leading design and development of innovative electronic products from concept to production. You will craft embedded systems, hardware, and firmware while coordinating BOMs and ERP data, and mentoring peers.

The role emphasizes EMC/safety compliance, technical documentation, and collaboration across production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

Degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
5 years of product development experience.
Strong hardware design, PCB development and embedded firmware experience.
Knowledge of safety, EMC and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
Project management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded electronic systems, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, prototyping and testing.
Develop and maintain Embedded C/C firmware for PIC, NXP, or similar MCUs.
Produce technical documentation, specifications and product development requirements.
Manage BOMs and maintain product data in ERP systems.
Support product testing, validation, EMC and safety compliance activities.
Provide technical support to production and wider engineering teams, while mentoring junior colleagues.
