Senior Embedded Software Engineer role in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. You will design and deliver modern C++ on Linux for embedded devices, refactoring legacy code, and working closely with hardware teams. This is a senior position with ownership and a direct say in technical direction.

Relocation assistance available, fully on-site in Barnsley, with a strong R&D culture, CI/CD practices and a salary up to £70,000 plus benefits.

Competenze

5+ years of commercial embedded software development.
Strong experience with modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20).
Embedded Linux development and debugging with GDB/strace.
OO design and UML.
Ability to read hardware schematics and debug on target.

Mansioni

Research, design, develop and debug software for new and existing products.
Refactor existing code into well-structured, object-oriented modern C++.
Ensure code meets safety, functionality and performance standards with full tests.
Participate in code/design reviews and produce technical documentation.
Collaborate with hardware engineers and project leads, providing estimates.
Mentor and support other engineers as the team grows.
