We are seeking talented, motivated engineers at all levels, including Hardware Engineer, Senior Hardware Engineer, Principal Hardware Engineer, and Lead Hardware Engineer.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Hardware Engineer to join the PSU Core Delivery Team (CDT) in Edinburgh. The team provides expert advice, guidance, design, and governance across all projects related to Power systems throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing future Power Systems, focusing on topology analysis, energy storage, and conservation technologies.
• Supporting adhoc and emerging power-related tasks across projects.
• Overseeing multiple projects, acting as a technical and managerial liaison between engineering, project, and management teams.
• Supporting power system testing, documentation, and collaboration with other teams on EMC and grounding designs.
• Sharing knowledge and providing domain expertise to various stakeholders.
• Reviewing system requirements and partitioning into specific power system requirements.
• Supporting schematic capture, component selection, and simulation of power circuitry.
• Analyzing PSU topology, energy storage, and conservation techniques.
• Participating in process improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in design, manufacture, testing, and integration of PSUs or power systems.
• Minimum HND in Engineering, Systems, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of switched-mode power supply design, control circuitry, and interface circuitry.
• Familiarity with Mentor Graphics, schematic, and simulation tools like Simetrix, LT Spice, MATLAB.
• Fault diagnosis skills, understanding of electrical power systems, safety standards, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio.
