Job summary

Chess Dynamics in Horsham, United Kingdom, seeks a Senior Electronics Engineer to set engineering standards and lead by example. You will design, test, and iterate electronic systems and PCBs, manage obsolescence, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will review designs, generate technical documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting production with root-cause analysis. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Proven electronic design experience, preferably in senior or lead roles.
• Strong PCB design expertise with multi-layer boards and best practices.
• Experience with obsolescence management and lifecycle planning.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design considerations and compliance.
• Proficient in schematic capture and BOM generation; able to produce technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electronic circuits and multilayer PCB layouts.
• Maintain and update PCB designs for performance and manufacturability.
• Manage component obsolescence and qualify alternatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams; support production with root-cause analysis.
• Conduct design reviews, verification, and validation testing of electronic systems.
• Generate and maintain schematics, BOMs, and design reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
