Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd is helping a County Durham client recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer. You will own hardware designs from concept to volume production, crafting analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits and leading design reviews.

You’ll specify parts, simulate, breadboard, and integrate with USB, Ethernet, PCIe, CAN, SPI and I²C. Hybrid working, relocation support, and a strong pension/benefits package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent hard-won experience.
• Strong track record of component level analogue and digital design.
• Schematic capture and PCB design tool experience (Altium preferred).
• Solid EMC/EMI understanding in design and test.

Responsibilities

• Design analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits at component level.
• Build microprocessor-based systems around ADCs, DACs and supporting logic.
• Capture schematics and specify PCB requirements from materials to layer stack.
• Integrate designs at system level with interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, PCIe, CAN, SPI and I²C.
• Troubleshoot hardware and communications faults methodically.
• Perform thermal, tolerance and reliability analyses including MTBF.
• Write test specs and reports and lead design reviews.
• Collaborate with software/firmware teams and manage obsolescence.
