Mycronic RoBAT Ltd. in Macclesfield is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead board-level architecture, run 3D simulations, and ensure signal integrity for high-frequency PCB test equipment.

You will own schematic capture and multi-layer high-speed layouts in Altium, perform SI simulations, and optimize controlled impedance transmission lines. Join a startup-style team backed by an established engineering company with international exposure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or RF Engineering required.
• Expert knowledge of transmission line theory, impedance, and crosstalk.
• Proven experience designing high-speed RF/microwave PCBs using Altium with SI targets.

Position Overview

You will lead board‑level architecture, perform 3D simulation, and ensure signal integrity for all high frequency aspects of our systems

Key Responsibilities

Lead schematic capture and high‑density, multi‑layer high‑speed PCB layouts using tools like Altium Designer.

Perform signal integrity (SI) simulations and manage designs for controlled impedance transmission lines (strip line, microstrip, via structures etc).

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or RF Engineering.
• Expert knowledge of transmission line theory, characteristic impedance, and crosstalk.
• Proven experience designing high‑speed RF/microwave PCBs (Altium) with strict signal integrity targets.
• Mastery of RF lab equipment, including TDR/VNA instruments, and de‑embedding software.

Desirable

• Experience in one or more of:
• PCB manufacturing or electronic assembly
• Electrical testing of PCBs
• High‑speed digital electronics
• Robotics and motion control
• Machine vision
• Precision metrology
• Automated test equipment (ATE)

Location

Onsite at our facility in Macclesfield, with regular attendance at our remote engineering facilities and customer sites as required.
