Job summary

Zenovo is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Horsham. You will own electronics development from architecture through to production, working with software, product and manufacturing to deliver robust electronic products.

You will design hardware, define architectures, produce schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years' experience in electronics design and development.
• Advanced Altium Designer skills (schematic capture and PCB layout).
• Experience taking products through full lifecycle from concept to production.
• Experience with component selection, derating, reliability and obsolescence.

Job description

A growing automotive technology business is looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join its expanding engineering team.

You’ll play a key role across the full electronics development lifecycle, from architecture and circuit design through to prototyping, verification, compliance and production. Working closely with engineers across software, product and manufacturing, you’ll help develop robust, reliable and commercially focused electronic products.

This is a varied opportunity where you’ll have the chance to take ownership of new product development while also improving and supporting existing products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, verify and support electronic hardware across new and existing products.
• Define electronic architectures and develop practical design solutions.
• Produce schematics, PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation using Altium Designer.
• Manage component libraries, design standards and engineering processes.
• Select and qualify components based on performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability and lifecycle.
• Support prototype builds, design reviews, product introduction and manufacturing.
• Support project planning, estimation and delivery of electronics projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering processes and best practice.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in electronics design and development.
• Advanced experience with Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience taking electronic products through the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production.
• Experience with component selection, derating, reliability and obsolescence management.
• Strong fault-finding, debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working within structured engineering and change-control processes.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with wider engineering teams.
