Job summary

IC Resources is working with an innovative technology company in Cambridge to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer. You will join a multidisciplinary team to develop pioneering electronics solutions across the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture and architecture through to design, validation and delivery.

You will lead hardware design, board bring-up, system integration, and work with embedded software.

Qualifications

• Advanced electronics hardware design and schematic capture (Altium experience desirable).
• PCB layout, including signal integrity and stack-up design.
• Experience designing and developing complex electronics systems.
• Board bring-up, debugging and system-level testing.
• Programming experience in C, C++, C#, Python, MATLAB or Simulink.
• Knowledge of FPGA or embedded firmware would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and development of complex electronics hardware solutions.
• Taking ownership of electronics architecture, schematic design and PCB development.
• Supporting prototype development, board bring-up, testing and validation.
• Designing and debugging systems using SPI, I2C, Ethernet and Modbus.
• Working across disciplines to integrate electronics with embedded software, mechanical systems and wider technology platforms.
• Producing high-quality technical documentation and supporting transition from concept through to delivery.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring within a collaborative engineering environment.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of complex electronics challenges,. you'll be involved across the full product lifecycle - from requirements capture and architecture through to design, development, testing, documentation and delivery, with the opportunity to influence technical direction and solve challenging real-world problems.

What you'll be doing:
