Job summary

April Quest in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join a growing specialist engineering and manufacturing business. You will work in a small, focused team delivering value engineering for aerospace and defence and power/industrial sectors.

You’ll re-engineer existing products to cut costs while maintaining performance, collaborate with procurement, and apply DFM principles to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven value engineering experience with cost-focused redesigns.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) methods.
• Understanding of commercial objectives behind VE.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join a growing specialist engineering and manufacturing business.

The company develops world-leading products across the Aerospace & Defence and Power & Industrial sectors and is currently investing heavily in internal product development as part of its continued growth.

Working within a small, specialist team of Electronic Hardware Engineers, you’ll take a commercially focused role centred around value engineering. You’ll understand customer requirements, work closely with procurement, and re-engineer/reverse engineer existing products to reduce cost while ensuring they continue to meet customer requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven value engineering experience, particularly making existing products more cost-effective
• Experience of Design for Manufacture (DFM)
• Strong understanding of the commercial objectives behind value engineering
• Good electronics design experience across digital and analogue electronics
• Experience within Aerospace or another highly regulated industry would be advantageous
