Job summary

Eaton Corporation, Wimborne facility, specialises in air-to-air refuelling systems and defence technologies. The role focuses on applying environmental and functional test expertise to the design and verification of aerospace products, processes and technologies.

You will be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and contribute to performance validation, ensure quality compliance, and train engineers in verification activities, with emphasis on safety-critical engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Systems Test or Verification Engineering, preferably in Aerospace or Military sectors.
  • Proven ability to plan, lead and execute projects and functional improvements.
  • Understanding of similarity/analysis, demonstration and inspection.
  • Experience verifying to RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools (thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience in a regulated industry and safety-critical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Apply environmental and functional test expertise to design, develop and deliver new aerospace products, processes and technologies.
  • Be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and contribute to performance to meet/exceed expectations.
  • Use discipline processes, practices and tools to meet project requirements and discipline quality.
  • Conduct verification activities and document validation strategies and plans.
  • Create verification documentation to demonstrate compliance to requirements.
  • Define system and equipment level strategies & tests and link them (integration).
  • Train and coach engineers in verification activities including test and analysis.
  • Define requirements for system/framework/product and manage related processes.

What you'll do:
  • Applying environmental and functional test expertise to the design, development and delivery of new aerospace products, processes and technologies.
  • Being a part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and contributing the performance of the IPT to ensure that the performance expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Employing the appropriate discipline processes, practices, and tools to ensure that responsibilities are completed to meet the required project requirements and discipline quality.
  • Conducting verification activities on aerospace components and system including; Requirements Validation, Verification Strategy & Planning, Test, Analysis and Reporting.
  • Creating verification documentation to demonstrate compliance to customer and internal requirements.
  • Define system level and equipment level Strategies & Tests and understand how they link together (Integration)
  • Train and coach other engineers in Verification activities including test & analysis
  • Create and manage the definition and requirements for a system, framework or product.
  • Define processes, system specifications, input/output, integration requirements
  • Support Generation of require test Equipment, including defining the requirements, sourcing, commissioning and usage of. This includes; fixturing, mechanical and electromechanical systems and rigs.
  • Support Definition of new tools and processes to streamline test and analysis
Qualifications:
Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Systems Test or Verification Engineering role, with it being desirable that the experience was gained within the Aerospace or Military Industry.
  • Proven experience of planning, leading and executing projects and functional improvements.
  • You'll have a clear understanding what is meant by similarity/analysis, demonstration and inspection.
  • You'll have a clear understanding and experience in verifying to known industry standards such as RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
  • Be experienced and competent in the use of some or all of the following; thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers, and flow meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • You'll have experience within a regulated industry.
  • Have a safety critical Engineering background/ qualification
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel for documentation and data analysis
  • Be a proactive self-starter, who enjoys being part of a team
