Job summary

Salter Grange is recruiting a Senior Electrical Project Manager for a fast-growing design-and-build contractor. You’ll lead Phase 2 of a live data centre refurbishment, delivering 2.4MW of IT capacity, from pre-construction through commissioning and handover, with a strong client relationship in place.

You’ll head the electrical team, coordinate design, ensure safety RAMS, plan long-lead equipment, and work with the commercial team on changes.

Qualifications

• Extensive electrical or MEP delivery experience in data centres, defence, energy or critical infra.
• Proven delivery of complex electrical systems from design to handover.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and commercial awareness.
• HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• 18th Edition, SMSTS and First Aid at Work.
• HV Authorised Person training or equivalent.
• ECS Black Manager Card or ability to obtain within a set period.
• IET or CIBSE membership, or working towards it.
• Desirable: HV energisation, NEC/JCT contracts, IEng/CEng status, PM qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and the electrical team, including Electrical Project Managers and specialist contractors.
• Make day-to-day decisions on resources, sequencing, routine spend and corrective action.
• Lead design coordination, constructability reviews and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Own electrical safety, covering isolations, switching, energisation and RAMS review.
• Plan for long-lead equipment and shape procurement and commissioning strategies.
• Drive QA, testing, commissioning and complete handover records.
• Work with the commercial team on change, variations and subcontractor performance.
• Report to senior project and client stakeholders, and develop your team.

Senior Electrical Project Manager: Data Centre, Bristol

Salter Grange is recruiting a Senior Electrical Project Manager for a fast-growing specialist design-and-build contractor. The client works across the data centre, defence and energy sectors and has long-standing relationships with major data centre operators.

As Senior Electrical Project Manager, you’ll lead Phase 2 of a major refurbishment of a live data centre, adding 2.4MW of IT capacity. Phase 1 is already complete, so the client relationship and site knowledge are in place. The scope covers new generators, switchgear, UPS systems, chillers and CRAH units. The Senior Electrical Project Manager takes the electrical works from pre-construction and design right through to commissioning, energisation and handover.

Senior Electrical Project Manager Responsibilities:

Senior Electrical Project Manager Requirements:

• Significant electrical or MEP delivery experience in data centres, defence, energy or critical infrastructure
• Proven delivery of complex electrical systems from design to handover
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, plus commercial and contractual awareness
• HNC or HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent
• 18th Edition, SMSTS and First Aid at Work
• HV Authorised Person training or equivalent competence
• ECS Black Manager Card, or able to get one within an agreed period
• IET or CIBSE membership, or working towards it
• Desirable: HV and energisation experience, critical power systems, NEC and JCT contracts, IEng or CEng status, and a project management qualification
