Job summary

Eastgate Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with strong expertise in cable calculations, earthing, and containment design. The role requires a 5–10 year track record, an Electrical Engineering degree, and solid knowledge of British and European standards including ATEX.

You will lead design quality, supervise a team, and support procurement, safety, and client liaison throughout project execution.

Qualifications

Electrical engineering degree required.
5–10 years of relevant industry experience.
Strong knowledge of British and European standards incl. ATEX.
Ability to lead design quality and deliver detailed work packages.
Experience supervising a team of engineers/designers.

Responsibilities

Ensure quality and approve electrical design deliverables; make independent decisions.
Maintain and improve Electrical Engineering standards.
Ensure Safety, Health and Environment protection in design.
Provide expert technical support and liaise with clients.
Carry out design of power distribution and protection for LV/MV/HV.
Design motor control circuits including VSDs.
Perform LV and MV protection studies and calculations.
Supervise a team of engineers and designers for detailed work packages.
Prepare cost and man-hour estimates.
Direct and coordinate procurement strategy and supplier data.
Monitor engineering documents via e-DMS and e-CDR; manage resources.
Identify overtime needs and obtain approvals.
Ensure compliance with Safety Management System and QA requirements.
