Job summary

ELEC BIAS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for a highly automated distribution centre in Wakefield. The role focuses on maintaining conveyors, high-speed packaging machinery, automated retrieval systems and more, with a strong electrical bias and initiative to lead when required.

You will work with the Engineering Team on preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability across the facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification Electrical.
• Technical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience with automated conveyor systems.
• Able to read schematic diagrams confidently.
• Solid understanding of Health and Safety policies.
• Knowledge of electrical/pneumatic/mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of automated equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical skills.
• Root cause analysis capability.
• Siemens S7/Tia Portal experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organised with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Electrical testing, field wiring, calibration, interpreting circuit diagrams.
• Maintain and service automated equipment including conveyors and packaging machinery.
• Ensure high attention to detail to minimise downtime.
• Utilise CMMS for maintenance records and planning.
• On-site service and repair of equipment.
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
• Be willing to learn and adapt to role requirements.
• Take ownership of issues and drive fixes.

Senior Maintenance Technician

ELEC BIAS

3 Shift Pattern (8 Hour Shifts)

Salary c£43,000 plus shift supplements

We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our clients highly automated distribution centre based in Wakefield.

You will need to have a strong electrical bias and previous experience in an Automated Distribution Centre is preferred but not essential. No previous senior or equivalent experience is needed, but you will need to be able to use initiative and take charge when required.

Working with the wider Engineering Team, you will be involved in maintaining and improving a variety of automated equipment such as conveyors, high-speed packaging machinery, automated retrieval systems, palletisers and many more. You will be involved in both preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.

This is a key role in the business, and you will manage the maintenance operations of the facility ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for a Senior Maintenance Technician

• Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance


• Electrically; System testing, field wiring, system calibration, interpreting circuit diagrams


• Knowledge of automated, electrical and pneumatics machinery

Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Senior Maintenance Technician

• Minimum Level 3 qualification Electrical Qualification


• Technical department experience especially in maintenance


• Experience with working on automated conveyor systems


• Confidently read schematic diagrams


• A solid understanding of Health and Safety policies


• Technical knowledge of electrical/pneumatic/mechanical equipment


• Excellent understanding of automated equipment


• Both Electrical and Mechanical skills


• Root cause analysis skill


• Experience with Siemens S7 Tia portal would be an advantage


• Strong Communicator


• Organised and good time management skills.
