Job summary

David Leslie Ltd in East London is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. The role covers tendering from enquiry through to final submission on a portfolio spanning commercial, healthcare, education and public-sector projects.

You will review drawings and specifications, prepare detailed take-offs, evaluate supplier quotes and drive competitive bids while collaborating with project managers and suppliers to support cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

Proven estimating experience within an Electrical or M&E contractor.
Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Experience negotiating with suppliers, wholesalers and subcontractors.
Good commercial awareness with attention to detail and value engineering capability.
Experience using estimating software, especially Eque2 Evaluate, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Produce detailed electrical take-offs and quantify labour, materials and plant.
Obtain and evaluate supplier, wholesaler and subcontractor quotations.
Prepare accurate and commercially competitive tender submissions.
Identify buildability risks, value-engineering opportunities and potential cost savings.
Attend site surveys, tender meetings and client discussions where required.
Support the implementation and continued development of estimating software and internal processes.
