Job summary

David Leslie Ltd in South London is seeking a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator to join its growing Pre-Construction team. The role covers reviewing tender docs, obtaining quotes, preparing estimates and producing competitive submissions for mechanical building services projects.

You will work with the Head of Estimating and pre-construction team on Design & Build opportunities and follow up tenders for handover.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have strong numerical and analytical skills and a good attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities are required.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines is essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools is expected.
• Experience in mechanical estimating and knowledge ofHVAC/building services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare mechanical estimates and tender submissions.
• Complete tender forms and pricing schedules.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Produce accurate and commercially competitive pricing.
• Attend site surveys and pre-tender meetings when required.
• Assist with Design & Build tenders and tender follow-up.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage multiple tenders and submission deadlines.
• Support project handover and improve estimating processes.
