Job summary

Kirkland Associates in Derbyshire is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare quotations for complex, high-value switchgear projects. You will produce quotations from customer specifications and drawings, ensuring BS EN 61439 compliance and preparing technical submissions.

You will resolve technical and commercial queries, support Sales/Engineering, and maintain ISO 9001 records while seeking improvements to estimating processes.

Qualifications

• Significant electrical estimating or switchgear engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of LV switchboards, control circuitry and electrical infrastructure.
• Understanding of automatic changeover systems, power factor correction and ancillary equipment.
• High-level knowledge of BS EN 61439.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness, communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed quotations from customer specifications, drawings and schematics.
• Ensure switchgear solutions comply with BS EN 61439.
• Prepare technical submissions, pricing schedules and quotation documents.
• Resolve technical and commercial queries with customers before orders are placed.
• Support Sales and Engineering with pricing, variations and technical information.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and efficiency.
