Job summary

elix Sourcing Solutions seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator for a remote, high-value tendering role across the UK. You will own the end-to-end estimating process for LV switchgear, switchboards and power distribution, interpreting client specs and diagrams to produce precise commercial tenders.

You will ensure compliance with BS EN 61439 and ISO9001, liaising with sales, engineering and production to support ongoing growth and resolve pre-order queries while working remotely with limited

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Electrical Estimator in switchgear or control panels.
• Ability to price from complex electrical drawings and client specs.
• Knowledge of BS EN 61439 and ISO9001 quality systems.
• Eligible to work in the UK and based on the UK mainland.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end estimating for LV switchgear and distribution systems UK-wide.
• Interpret drawings and specs to prepare precise tenders and quotations.
• Ensure BS EN 61439 and ISO9001 compliance on all tenders.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and production to resolve queries.

• Location: UK Wide / Remote (Occasional visits to Derbyshire office ~1 day per month)

Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking for a high-level, remote role within a market-leading switchgear manufacturer? Ready to take ownership of high-value, complex projects with a supportive engineering business that values your technical expertise?

You will lead the end-to-end estimating process for high-value low-voltage (LV) switchgear, main switchboards, and power distribution systems across the UK. Working closely with client specifications, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics, you will interpret technical requirements to produce precise, highly detailed commercial tenders and quotations. You will ensure full compliance with BS EN 61439 design standards and company ISO9001 quality systems, serving as the technical authority on complex tenders involving Auto Changeover Systems (ATS) and Power Factor Correction (PFC). Beyond pricing, you will collaborate directly with internal sales, engineering, and production teams to resolve pre-order technical queries and support ongoing business growth.

• Work remotely with maximum autonomy, acting as a key technical contact for sales, engineering, and client pre-order queries.
• Play a direct role in shaping business performance, working closely with the Estimating Director to drive department strategy.

Requirements

• Proven track record as an Electrical Estimator with specific experience in switchgear, switchboards, or control panel manufacturing.
• Strong technical ability to read, interpret, and price from complex electrical drawings, schematics, and client specifications.
• Solid understanding of relevant UK/European manufacturing standards, specifically BS EN 61439 compliance guidelines.
