Job summary

GDS Partners is recruiting an experienced Electrical Estimator to join an established M&E Contractor based in Maidenhead. You will manage tenders from receipt to handover, coordinate estimating, design and procurement, and ensure technical compliance and commercial competitiveness.

Minimum 3 years' experience in Electrical Estimating, strong stakeholder coordination, and a solid building-services background are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience within Electrical Estimating or Bid Management.
• Experience working within an M&E / Electrical Contractor environment.
• Experience managing complex tenders and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical building services, including distribution, containment, lighting and small power.
• Good commercial understanding of labour, materials, subcontract packages, risk and margin.
• Confident reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, programmes and contractual information.

Responsibilities

• Manage enquiries from initial receipt through tender submission, negotiation, award and handover.
• Review client enquiries, drawings, specifications, employer's requirements and tender documentation.
• Coordinate Estimating, Design, Procurement, Projects, suppliers and specialist subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Ensure tenders are technically compliant, commercially competitive and submitted within agreed deadlines.
• Review electrical designs and specifications, identifying design gaps, scope interfaces, omissions and potential risks.
• Manage tender clarifications, qualifications, exclusions, assumptions and value-engineering proposals.
• Lead internal tender reviews and support commercial negotiations with clients.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations for scope, commercial risk and completeness.
• Attend client meetings, tender interviews, design workshops and commercial negotiations.
• Lead structured handovers following project award, ensuring delivery teams have a clear understanding of scope, budget, programme, design responsibilities and procurement requirements.
