Northcote M&E in Surbiton is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead electrical estimating across residential and commercial projects. This senior role offers real ownership of tenders from enquiry through to handover, working closely with directors and the operations team.

The ideal candidate will have significant Electrical Estimator experience within an M&E or electrical contractor, strong knowledge of LV power, lighting and fire alarm systems, and a proven ability to read

Qualificações

• Significant experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E or electrical contractor
• Strong technical knowledge of LV power, lighting, containment, fire alarm and small power
• Expert reading of drawings and specifications with accurate take-offs
• Good understanding of BS 7671 and current industry standards
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of winning work
• Proficient with Excel and estimating software
• Able to manage several tenders concurrently and meet tight deadlines

Responsabilidades

• Lead the electrical estimating function, owning tenders from enquiry to submission
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for residential and commercial projects
• Carry out take-offs and quantity measurements from drawings, specifications and schedules
• Review tender documents and identify risks, exclusions, clarifications and value-engineering opportunities
• Obtain, compare and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Build up labour, plant and material rates and keep pricing databases current
• Attend client meetings, tender interviews and site visits
• Support mechanical estimating where your experience allows
• Prepare clear handover packs for the delivery team on successful bids
• Help shape estimating processes and mentor junior estimators as the team grows
