Job summary

Sweco is shaping sustainable communities with a broad portfolio across AMP8. As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will guide electrical design teams, check deliverables, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with current regulations.

The role balances office/site presence with three days on-site per week, and offers a blend of collaboration and technical leadership. You’ll collaborate with discipline heads and project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery, driving

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with Chartered status or working towards it.
• Experience with water-sector assets and capital projects is essential.
• Solid knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching of junior engineers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering technical direction to discipline engineers in your area.
• Coach and mentor junior and less experienced electrical engineers.
• Check designs, specifications, drawings and 3D models for quality and safety.
• Collaborate with design managers to plan milestones and design reviews.
• Support delivery of projects on time and to budget, ensuring standards.
