Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure? We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Water Solutions team as we help deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious and long-term water infrastructure programmes. You’ll support multi-billion-pound capital delivery frameworks, contributing to high-impact water and wastewater projects across AMP8 and AMP9.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from small rural upgrades to complex, multi-million-pound schemes. You’ll collaborate with internal and external partners, including Tier 1 contractors and water utility clients. This is a long-term, secure opportunity to grow your career and impact the UK’s water resilience and sustainability.

Key Programmes You'll Support:

• South West Water & Wessex Water (£8bn AMP8 & AMP9 Investment): Frameworks for Engineering Consultancy Services, including Multi-Discipline Engineering Design and Design Consultants.
• Severn Trent Water (£14.9bn AMP8 Delivery Plan): Major Projects Framework and supporting Tier 1 contractors on wastewater schemes.
• Southern Water (£3.7bn Capital Delivery Programme): Strategic Delivery Partner Frameworks and Infrastructure Frameworks for sustainable wastewater infrastructure.

Working flexibly, you’ll visit client sites and collaborate across multi-year frameworks. You’ll manage projects from inception to delivery, creating innovative solutions that benefit communities and the environment.

Responsibilities:

• Electrical and ICA Design: Design and review electrical and ICA elements in water infrastructure projects, from conception to handover.
• Quality: Produce and review deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and reports, ensuring standards compliance.
• Project Management: Assist in bid preparation and project management.
• Mentoring: Delegate tasks and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

• Experience in water/wastewater engineering design preferred but not essential.
• Ability to produce detailed design deliverables and coordinate with others.
• Experience managing projects and mentoring teams.
• BEng or MEng in a related field; Chartered or near Chartered status.
