Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL, on behalf of a growing building services consultancy, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across RIBA stages in Cardiff or Bristol. You will own projects, mentor junior engineers and develop strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in LV distribution, load calculations, generator/UPS systems, lighting design, fire life safety, and CAD/BIM delivery, with a proactive, independent approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating teams.
• Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of delivery.
• Proactive approach to design and problem solving.
• Membership of CIBSE or IET, or working towards membership.
• Desire to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery across all RIBA stages.
• Take responsibility for electrical elements from concept to completion.
• Manage projects and coordinate engineering teams.
• Develop strong client relationships and manage communications.
• Provide technical leadership and support to junior engineers.
• Perform technical reviews and contribute to QA processes.
• Carry out site inspections and provide commissioning support.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and best practices.
• Contribute to ongoing development of the electrical team.
