Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead the design and oversight of industrial electrical systems for a major semiconductor manufacturing project in Birmingham. You will work with the design team to ensure installations align with the design intent and project requirements.

The role requires extensive field experience, PE licensure, and deep knowledge of NFPA 70/NEC. Strong communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams is essential to drive project momentum and quality

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design of industrial electrical systems.
NFPA 70 (NEC) knowledge required.
Minimum 5 years of field experience supporting construction activities.
Proficient in English with technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee construction activities and verify electrical installations match design intent.
Respond to contractor RFIs and support submittal reviews.
Monitor system installation for quality and compliance.
Collaborate with client, owner, and contractors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
