Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer in the UK to join a multi-discipline team delivering high‑quality designs for semiconductor manufacturing and other advanced facilities. You will organize and lead plant design activities, coordinating with electrical, structural, architectural and process disciplines to meet scope, budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification of bachelor's degree in building services/mechanical engineering.
• Semiconductor experience preferable; large-scale industrial experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sector.
• Engineering/design experience (min. 5 years) in the Mech/HVAC systems.
• Excellent English level – written and spoken.
• Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
• Experience using Navisworks in a BIM environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize, assign, and delegate engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents with a team.
• Manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural and process disciplines to develop designs.
• Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
• Perform Mech/HVAC plant design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
• Perform quality review checks for 2D/3D modelling and Mech/HVAC deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
• Assist in generating proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
• Develop designer effort-hour estimates for Mech/HVAC discipline.
• Conduct upfront site selection and due diligence activities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to project engineers and designers.
