Job summary

High Speed Two Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to shape LV electrical engineering for the HS2 programme. You will join the central M&E Engineering team, delivering LV systems across shafts, portals and Head Houses, interfacing with mechanical, civil and controls disciplines.

The role offers hybrid working with site visits, progression to Lead Electrical Engineer, and a long-term opportunity across the M&E Systemwide programme on a UK-wide rail infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• Strong LV electrical engineering experience across complex projects.
• Experience reviewing contractor designs and resolving technical queries.
• Experience providing technical assurance during construction and delivery.
• Good understanding of change control and its impact on cost and programme.
• Strong stakeholder management with contractors, designers and engineers.
• Ability to coordinate electrical interfaces with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering expertise across HS2 M&E packages and assets.
• Review and assure contractor designs and construction proposals.
• Provide technical input on LV distribution, switchboards, lighting, and cabling.
• Support technical assurance through design, construction, testing and commissioning.
• Respond to technical queries and resolve engineering issues with delivery teams.
• Manage electrical interfaces with mechanical, civil and other disciplines.
• Support change, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events, cost and time impacts.
• Undertake site inspections and provide construction stage assurance.
• Develop and apply electrical requirements, standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with HS2 teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
