Job summary

BPA - British Pipeline Agency Limited in Hemel Hempstead seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical scopes across pipeline, terminal and storage assets. You will shape electrical designs for projects and live operations, with emphasis on safety, compliance and reliability.

The role requires coordinating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate has strong experience in high-hazard environments, knowledge of HV/LV systems,

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Extensive experience delivering electrical solutions in high-hazard environments (oil & gas, terminals, pipelines).
Experience reviewing contractor and vendor design deliverables.
Strong technical judgement and risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Define electrical scopes, inputs, and technical requirements for projects.
Lead or review deliverables like SLDs, load assessments, protection studies, cable sizing, and earthing.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and hazardous area requirements.
Provide technical assurance across design reviews through the project lifecycle.
Support project delivery from concept to commissioning and handover.
Collaborate with asset teams for fault finding and reliability improvements.
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
