Job summary

Kirkland Associates is recruiting a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Nottinghamshire to support high‑pressure pipeline and plant systems. You will produce electrical designs, calculations and reports while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and attending client design reviews.

The role suits an experienced electrical engineer with BS 7671 knowledge and chartered status or progress toward chartership, working in a hybrid setup with some site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Electrical design experience within utilities, pipelines or related industrial sector.
• Good working knowledge of BS 7671.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of Amtech/Trimble ProDesign and AutoCAD would be advantageous; ATEX/DSEAR, earthing, lightning protection or control systems knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed budgets and timescales.
• Attend client meetings, design reviews and safety assessments.
• Support equipment selection, procurement and project estimates.
• Visit sites when required and support the development of colleagues.
