Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Data Centres
Central London (Hybrid Working Available)
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for innovative design and a knack for solving complex challenges? Our client, a prestigious multidisciplinary consultancy based in central London, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge hyperscale data centre projects across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical design process for hyperscale data centres, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with other engineering disciplines.
- Develop detailed electrical designs, including UPS, Generators, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and security systems.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments worldwide to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Prepare and present project documentation, reports, and design calculations.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
- Extensive experience in electrical design engineering in a UK based consultancy, with a focus on data centre projects. (Other critical systems design experience will be considered)
- Proficiency in using design software such as Dialux, Amtech and ETAP.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
