Job summary

LJB Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a major data centre project in Blyth, with a focus on high‑uptime electrical design and site coordination. The role requires managing electrical subcontractors and coordinating complex drawings to meet strict programme requirements.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in M&E contracting, data centre experience, and strong health and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical engineering qualification, ideally a degree.
• 10+ years experience in a similar role within an M&E contracting environment.
• Data centre construction experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation and site coordination.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors.
• Good understanding of health and safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical subcontractors and site activities.
• Review and coordinate technical drawings and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and engineering teams.
• Allocate and prioritise work to meet project programmes.
• Monitor installation quality and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and site requirements.
• Maintain high health and safety standards across site activities.
• Keep project documentation and technical logs up to date.
• Prepare test packs and handover documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve site processes, safety and efficiency.
