Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Communication Systems at Devonport Royal Dockyard. The role involves acting as System Steward for essential communication systems, guiding through-life capability and asset management, and coordinating with operations, project teams and suppliers.

The position requires strong technical and stakeholder skills, plus SC security clearance eligibility. Hybrid work is offered with two onsite days weekly.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience.
• Experience in communication or electrical engineering assets.
• Knowledge of lifecycle management, asset stewardship and critical infrastructure challenges.

Responsibilities

• Act as System Steward for communication systems, overseeing capability and performance.
• Develop lifecycle strategies, reference designs and asset management plans.
• Monitor asset health, obsolescence risks and identify future investment opportunities.
• Provide engineering expertise to support technical and business decisions.
• Engage with stakeholders, project teams and suppliers to plan integration into the portfolio.
