The Opportunity

Our client is a leading, well-established Building Services Consultancy. They work across various industries including Commercial, Residential, Education, Retail, Leisure, and Healthcare. Due to new contract acquisitions, they are recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their design team.

The Position

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, your role will involve overseeing junior staff, undertaking engineering designs, and providing project management and administrative duties.

Responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring design team costs, considering the programme and budget for each project.
2. Assisting with assessments and preparing bids for projects as directed.
3. Implementing company procedures and policies.
4. Carrying out electrical design and project management in line with company aims and policies.
5. Managing the design team and providing electrical engineering support.
6. Liaising with clients and attending project meetings.
7. Conducting surveys and producing reports.
8. Performing quality inspections of projects.
9. Using CAD systems according to company procedures.
10. Monitoring financial aspects of projects.
11. Formulating electrical standards within the organization.
12. Mentoring and overseeing junior staff.

The Person

The ideal candidate should:

• Be able to produce designs from initial concept to completion, including specifications, drawings, schedules, and cost estimates using Word and Excel.
• Have experience and knowledge of current Building Regulations, especially energy-related controls.
• Have experience working in a consultancy on various project types.
• Be skilled in project management of multidisciplinary projects.
• Be capable of producing detailed specifications and design calculations, both manually and using software like AutoCAD/Revit and Hevacomp.
• Be experienced in producing tender packages and analyzing tenders.
• Be able to produce budget costings for all service aspects.
• Be willing to conduct site surveys across the UK using personal transport.
• Have experience in on-site project management and producing condition reports.
• Be capable of managing junior staff.

Please note this is a permanent or long-term contract position based at their Croydon offices, working full-time.
