Job summary

7 Steel UK is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Rod and Bar Mill Team. You will split time between offices and the plant, coordinating electrical activities, maintenance, and safety-driven practices to keep the mill running smoothly.

You will bring a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc minimum) and extensive experience in electrical or automation engineering, preferably in a hot rolling mill.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (BSc minimum).
• Extensive experience in Electrical or Automation Engineering, preferably in a hot rolling mill.
• Ability to support training and development of the engineering team and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage electrical activities (planned maintenance, shutdowns, emergency repairs) to rectify breakdowns and minimise disruption.
• Provide technical advice and support to other electrical and automation engineers, including root cause analysis, fault finding, and corrective actions.
• Prioritise health and safety policies in all areas of work and lead by example.

Job description

Joining our Rod and Bar Mill Team as a Senior Electrical Engineer, your days will be exciting and varied. Your time will be spent between the offices, and down on the plant, so no two days will look the same. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning, prioritising, scheduling, and managing electrical activities (e.g. planned maintenance programmes, shutdowns, and emergency repairs) to rectify breakdowns and minimise business disruption.
• Provide technical advice and support to other electrical and automation engineers in the department, including root cause analysis, fault finding, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Prioritising health and safety policies in all areas of your work, and leading by example

You will have extensive experience working in the Electrical or Automation Engineering fields, preferably in a hot rolling mill. Because of this, you will have the technical expertise to support the training and development of the engineering team, as well as contribute within the wider team to ensure the successful running of the mill. Most importantly, you will bring passion, purpose, and a continuous improvement mindset, as well as a strong focus health and safety.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will require a degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field (BSc minimum).
