At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Senior Electrical & Electronic Engineer at our Ashton Vale, Bristol Site.

The role

As a Senior Electrical & Electronic Engineer, you’ll manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, applying your process, electrical, and electronic engineering knowledge. You will be responsible for designs, developments, and solving problems within your specialist area.

You will work on complex engineering problems involving high levels of uncertainty, providing guidance to less experienced team members to support their development.

• Design and develop Launch Control Systems for submarines
• Focus on sophisticated real-time Electronic Control Systems using the latest PLC and Distributed Control methods
• Work with digital and analogue signalling and control systems
• Interface control circuits with instrumentation, mechanical, and communication systems

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements (2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days remote).

Essential experience

• Experience working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams on various project types
• Demonstrable experience across tasks of varying complexity
• Good communication skills and ability to interface with other disciplines
• Experience with ATEX and equipment used in Hazardous Areas (desirable)

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with significant experience
