Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for a contract role in the nuclear sector, based at our Manchester office. You will develop safe, economical electrical designs and produce a range of drawing office deliverables including SLDs, cable schedules, and material take-offs.

You will create and review 3D models (Navisworks, AVEVA E3D, Revit), ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate design activities.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience in nuclear/regulated sectors.
• Proficient CAD skills; 3D modelling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of UK electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Relevant electrical engineering qualification (ONC/OND/HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Strong communicator with stakeholders and risk-aware approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe, practical and economical electrical designs to high professional standard.
• Produce drawing office deliverables, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, material take-offs and block cable diagrams.
• Prepare schematics, equipment layouts and cable routing layouts.
• Check drawings in accordance with established company procedures.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines to coordinate design activities.
• Create and review 3D models using Navisworks, AVEVA E3D, Revit and related design software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant project, safety, installation and quality requirements.
