Job summary
Solid Talent is seeking a Design Engineer / CAD Technician in Bristol to contribute to UK energy infrastructure projects. You will focus on 3D cable tray routing, AVEVA E3D detailing, and multidisciplinary BIM collaboration to support key project milestones.
The role involves coordinating with Civil, Piping, HVAC and MEP teams, ensuring compliance with electrical segregation rules, and delivering accurate 3D models and documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience with AVEVA E3D or similar 3D CAD packages for cable routing in mechanical/HVAC/MEP contexts.
- Experience in 3D modelling for cable trays and structural supports.
- Engineering degree or equivalent; open to graduates with placement/internship.
Responsibilities
- Route cables in AVEVA E3D (or similar) based on input cable lists.
- Define Local Cable Tray layouts across rooms ensuring cable segregation.
- Pre-dimension LCT volumes and detail using catalogue components.
- Design and place structural supports for LCT networks per project rules.
- Interface across multidisciplinary BIM environments (Civil, Piping, HVAC, MEP).
- Maintain Excel trackers and report progress to Team Leader.
