Job summary

Clarke Energy is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to drive electrical design activities for power generation and renewable energy projects. Base at Knowsley headquarters with UK and overseas travel, leading engineering excellence across the project lifecycle.

You will translate concepts into detailed designs, perform system studies, and collaborate with mechanical, CAD, and project teams to ensure quality and safety. A strong background in CHP or hybrid power is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in power generation or related industry (1–25MW).
• Proficient with LV/MV systems, control, and instrumentation.
• Experience with ETAP and AutoCAD is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Produce calculations, specifications, and component selections.
• Review and approve designs for construction and safety compliance.
• Carry out load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies.
