Job summary

Clarke Energy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to shape energy systems for hospitals, industry and communities across the UK. You will guide concepts through to verified designs, covering gas-powered generation, CHP, BESS, hydrogen, solar, wind and microgrids.

The role emphasizes safety, quality and on-site implementation. You will collaborate with mechanical design teams, CAD technicians and project teams to deliver robust, compliant designs while supporting tender submissions and

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering (or HNC/HND with substantial relevant experience).
• Experience in power generation or a closely related industry (typically 1–25MW).
• Knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems, power trains and associated control and instrumentation.
• Experience using power system analysis software and AutoCAD (or similar).
• A proactive, dependable and collaborative approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Design resilient, real-world power systems from concept to detailed design documentation.
• Carry out power system studies (load flows, fault analysis, protection, harmonics, voltage flicker, G99) for compliant designs.
• Support projects from sales through commissioning with timely technical documentation and engineering input.
• Collaborate across disciplines (MEP, CAD, project teams) to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain safety and quality standards across design outputs and on-site activities.
