Job summary

A leading Engineering Consultancy located in Stafford is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will take ownership of technical leadership across projects involving control panel design. The ideal candidate should have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, at least 4 years of experience, and be eligible for SC level clearance. The company offers a salary up to £65,000 with hybrid working options and a range of benefits including private medical insurance.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with at least 4 years’ experience in hardware/electrical design.
• Strong background in control panel design and use of AutoCAD Electrical.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering successful projects.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508).
• Eligible for SC level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of control panels and safety panels.
• Carries out detailed reviews of AutoCAD Electrical drawings.
• Provides day-to-day technical leadership and mentoring for hardware engineers.
• Works closely with project teams to ensure delivery on time.
• Supports senior management with technical reporting and project strategy.
