Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs within UK consultancy or contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry best practices.
• Proficient in Amtech, Dialux/Relux and AutoCAD; Revit experience advantageous.
• Experience designing electrical services for complex building projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs across all RIBA Work Stages (1–7) from feasibility to post‑completion support.
• Design and specify LV power distribution, mains and sub-mains distribution, cable containment, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Develop performance specifications, calculations, technical reports, scope of works and tender documentation, ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.
• Design and coordinate specialist electrical systems including earthing, bonding, lightning protection, UPS, standby generation, HV/LV distribution and renewables as required.
• Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers, architects and BIM teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions.
• Attend client, design and project meetings, providing technical advice, reviews and feasibility studies.
• Undertake site inspections, monitor construction progress and provide technical support during installation, commissioning and handover.
