Job summary

ibse is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support a portfolio of complex building services projects across the UK and internationally. Join a multidisciplinary MEP team delivering electrical designs from feasibility to post-occupancy review on luxury hotels, embassies, offices and high-end residential schemes.

This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise and excellent communication, with opportunities to work on refurbishment, fit-out and new-build projects across sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs in UK consultancy or contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations.
• Proficient with Amtech, Dialux/Relux and AutoCAD; Revit advantageous.
• Experience across RIBA stages and complex building projects.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs across all RIBA Work Stages (1–7).
• Design and specify LV power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and related electrical services.
• Develop specifications, calculations, reports, and tender documentation.
• Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, architectural, BIM teams and contractors.
• Attend meetings and provide technical reviews, feasibility studies, and post-occupancy support.
• Undertake site inspections and assist during installation, commissioning and handover.
