Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd seeks a Senior/Principal/Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join its London-based team. You will lead electrical design across residential, commercial, and specialist projects, with exposure to renewables, low-carbon strategies, and BIM coordination.

The role offers hybrid working and clear career progression within a growing consultancy, with a focus on zero-carbon building services engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience as electrical engineer in building services (Senior/Principal) or 10+ years for Associate.
• Chartered or working towards chartered status with CIBSE or IET.
• Proven experience leading project design, managing project finances, and acting as primary point of contact for external teams.
• Strong knowledge of LV infrastructure, renewables, and low-carbon energy strategies.
• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and 3D BIM (Revit) and electrical software like Amtech, Dialux, and PVSyst.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, planning policies, and CDM responsibilities.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading internal teams.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Commitment to sustainable, zero-carbon design.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across multiple projects from concept to completion.
• Carry out electrical load calculations and LV infrastructure sizing, including renewables assessments.
• Produce design packages, reports, BIM coordination specs, and technical schedules using Amtech, Dialux, and Revit.
• Manage project fees, resources, and profitability.
• Act as the primary client-facing contact and coordinate with external design teams.
• Visit sites to inspect works and ensure design intent and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• For Associate level, act as Line Manager and Team Coordinator.
