Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead high-quality electrical designs across the Capital Programme in London. You will work under the Design Lead, producing designs aligned with standards and CDM regulations, and contribute to technical and commercial procurement documents.

The role requires independent work, mentoring of colleagues, and site visits to substations. Chartered status or progress towards it is expected, with strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in engineering or science.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs that conform to UK Power Networks standards and CDM regulations for 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and intermediate voltages.
• Prepare specifications and drawings within agreed timescales and contribute to procurement documents.
• Provide design sign-off within area of competence and mentor junior colleagues.
• Undertake site visits including entry to operational substations while following safety rules.
